Toronto police are actively searching for an elderly man who went missing from the Scarborough area on Sunday. The last sighting places Steven near the intersection of Sheppard Avenue and Birchmount Road around 2:30 p.m., with a later sighting showing him walking on Birchmount Road south of Ellesmere Road at approximately 3:25 p.m.
Steven is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a slim build and short grey hair that is balding. He was last seen wearing a navy blue button-down shirt, a navy blue fleece vest, blue jeans, and grey running shoes with white soles.
Due to his dementia and ongoing medication, authorities are especially concerned for his safety. It is also noted that he may not be dressed for the cold weather.
Police believe Steven is traveling on foot. He resides in the Scarborough area in a long-term care facility and has a history of going missing.
To aid in the search, officers will increase patrols in the area and deploy drone support to locate him more quickly.
