ST. GEORGE, Utah (KUTV) — BYU wide receiver Parker Kingston, a star athlete known for his prowess on the football field, found himself in a legal predicament when he was granted bail by a Washington County judge following his arrest on rape charges. The charges, which carry a first-degree felony status, emerged from a year-long investigation that began in February 2025.
Initially, Kingston was held without bail, but state prosecutors decided to release him on specific conditions, setting a $100,000 bail amount. This decision came after a thorough examination of the evidence and the circumstances surrounding the allegations.
As part of his release, Kingston will be required to adhere to strict conditions. He will be fitted with a GPS ankle monitor, which will track his movements, and he will be prohibited from returning to Washington County unless it's for court appearances. This restriction ensures that he remains within the jurisdiction for legal proceedings.
The court also imposed a no-contact order, prohibiting Kingston from any communication with the alleged victim or potential witnesses, either directly or through intermediaries. This measure aims to maintain the integrity of the investigation and protect the individuals involved.
Furthermore, Kingston is barred from using social media during the pendency of the case. This restriction is intended to prevent any potential influence on public opinion or interference with the legal process.
An attorney representing Kingston agreed to these terms, indicating that he plans to leave the county immediately upon release. The next scheduled court appearance is set for Wednesday, February 25, at 10:30 a.m., providing an opportunity for the legal process to unfold.
This development highlights the complexities of legal proceedings and the importance of due process. It also underscores the need for sensitivity and respect for all parties involved in such sensitive matters.
