Recent regulatory filings from China have unveiled exciting updates for BYD’s upcoming Denza Z9 and Z9GT models. These revelations highlight significant advancements in battery technology, electric range, and design, positioning them as potential game-changers in the EV space. And this is the part most people miss: It’s not just about the range—it’s about how BYD is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in EV performance and luxury.
Both models will feature two battery options: a 102.326 kWh pack and a larger 122.496 kWh pack. For the Denza Z9, the smaller battery delivers a CLTC range of 905 km, while the larger one extends this to an impressive 1068 km or 1030 km, depending on the configuration. The Denza Z9GT, meanwhile, offers CLTC ranges of 820 km, 860 km, and 880 km with the 102.326 kWh battery, jumping to 1002 km and 1036 km with the 122.496 kWh option. Under the hood, the Denza Z9 and Z9GT provide versatile powertrain options. A single-motor variant, available for both models, delivers a maximum output of 370 kW (496 hp). The Z9GT takes it a step further with a tri-motor setup, combining motors rated at 230 kW (308 hp), 310 kW (416 hp), and 310 kW (416 hp) for a staggering total of 850 kW (1140 hp).
